Form to Fluidity with JAMIE ELMER
Date: Saturday, March 13th
Time: 10 – 11:30am
Vinyasa Flow Yoga, linking movement and breath, is an inspriing practice and a powerful means of change. In order to fully experince this moving meditation we must also have a strong physical foundation in the poses. In this workhop/flow class, we will begin to breath and move within the template of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salute) taking time in each pose to align and find the form. This is our foundation. From here we'll flow in to fluidity -- this is where the vinyasa becomes a moving meditation -- moving on the breath and allowing the practice to transform us.
*Including optional arm balances, backbends and inversions
Cost: $40

Exploring Inversions
Date: Sunday March 14th. 3:30 – 5pm
In this workshop, designed for intermediate students, we will focus on the benefits and joys of going upside down: how inversions can be empowering and exhilarating. We will also address the fears we encounter about inverting and learn tools to build confidence: mentally and physically.
- We will explore multiple ways of building strength and flexibility to prepare the body to invert.
- We will try different sequencing of upper back, abdominal and shoulder strength/opening postures for you to discover the kind of postural sequence that works for your practice to lead you to inversions.
- We will discuss and practice specific types of inversions that are appropriate for certain neck and shoulder injuries, and learn modifications for these inversions.

The Power of Intention on and beyond the mat
Date: Sunday, April 11th 2010
Time: 9:30am - 12pm
Just as hydrogen and oxygen, depending on how they are mixed together, can produce either fire or water, asana practice and intention and breath depending on how they mixed together can produce either “just exercise” or can revolutionize our lives. This flowing workshop begins very gently and then builds momentum. At the apex of heat and breath we move directly into a special sequence of asanas, which bring the mind into stillness and the body into a new state of energy. This class is both challenging and very healing.
